President Trump: “A Big Wave Is Coming Soon” Against Iran

Regarding military operations against Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump said, “A big wave is coming soon,” hinting at a large-scale attack on the country in the near future. He also suggested that the attacks could be prolonged.

Concerns are growing that the exchange of attacks may intensify further, particularly after reports that the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was damaged.

Speaking at the White House on the 2nd, President Trump said of the U.S. and Israeli military operation against Iran, “I don’t care how long it takes. We originally estimated it would be four or five weeks, but we have the ability to continue it for much longer,” indicating the possibility of a prolonged campaign.

In a telephone interview with CNN, he said the operation was proceeding ahead of schedule but added that “a big wave is coming soon,” suggesting that a major offensive could be launched shortly.

Iran’s Red Crescent announced on the 2nd that 555 people have been killed across Iran in Israeli and U.S. attacks so far.

Meanwhile, six American soldiers have reportedly been killed. In Israel, 11 people were reported dead on the 2nd, including casualties from a missile strike on a residential area.

Reuters reported that Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on the 3rd that the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was attacked by two drones, causing limited fires and minor damage. The attack occurred early in the morning when no one was present at the embassy, and no injuries were reported.

According to CNN, the drones are believed to be Iranian-made.

U.S. media outlet NewsNation reported that President Trump said he would soon announce retaliatory measures in response to the embassy attack and the deaths of American soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Qatar announced on the 2nd that its military had shot down two Sukhoi-24 fighter-bombers approaching from Iran. The ministry also claimed that seven ballistic missiles and five drones were successfully intercepted.

There are increasing concerns that the exchange of attacks will escalate further.

Iran has reportedly threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy shipping route, and to set fire to ships passing through it.

In response to an interview with NHK, the U.S. military stated that “the Strait of Hormuz is not closed.”

However, Iranian attacks and related tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have already affected oil tanker traffic, raising concerns about broader economic impacts worldwide.
